We are very proud and happy to announce that we have won the second phase of the SME Instrument competition!
SME Instrument is a competition organized as part of the European Commission program Horizon 2020. This program supports SMEs that have high growth potential and focuses on the cooperation between science and industry. Phase II of the SME Instrument focuses on product development and preparation for commercialization. We are one of three Polish companies that received such funding in the last call!
We submitted our flagship solution to the competition - seven-core IPT-Core optical fiber, which will allow quick and effective transition to the 5G network. The IPT-Core fiber has seven microstructured cores in each single-mode fiber as separate ‘spatial’ channels. This multiplies the bandwidth by 7 in the same space usage as a traditional single-core fiber, which gives huge savings in installation - financial and spatial. Besides, thanks to its specially designed microstructure, the fiber is resistant to external interference, bending and crosstalk between cores. In addition, we also provide fan-in/fan-out connectors to offer a plug & play solution and readily become an integral part of existing networks. Currently, our solution is between 6 and 7 level of TRL technological readiness.
